Native American beaded Pouch — Apache Early 20th Century
A finely crafted Native American beaded pouch from the Apache people Made of soft tanned hide and decorated in classic geometric style, the pouch features bold stepped motifs in blue, green, red, and white lane-stitch beadwork. At the center is a circular rosette design with radiating elements
The upper section is finished with a drawstring closure, and the lower edge is adorned with long multicoloured beaded fringe, lending movement and colour typical of Apache aesthetic traditions. The workmanship, bead palette, and layout are consistent to early 20th century examples from the region.
Accompanied by a note stating it was acquired directly from the people, the cultural attribution is incorrect in the note but such pieces were widely traded.
